Youth Ministry programs include Sunday School for younger children and Youth Group for older children. Classes are held each Sunday during the school year and break for the summer.
Sunday School provides Christian education for children age 4 through fourth grade and meets on Sundays during the school year.
Living Compass for Teens
Responding to suggestions from youth, we will be using a study notebook entitled, Teen Living Compass (Faith and Wellness) throughout the remainder of our school year calendar. The Living Compass uses the four directions of the compass, renamed for the components of the first great commandment—heart, soul, mind and strength—as the structure for the study. Each teen is challenged through personal assessment, discussion and learning and in developing faith goals for living. Connecting to Scripture and prayer, each teen is encouraged to develop good habits that lead to stronger faith and increased wellness.
This curriculum is designed to help teens form a support group along with adult leaders where they discuss issues relating to teen faith and wellness. Such issues as intimate relationships, drugs, violence, sleep deprivation, bullying, academic pressures, and many other concerns that teens have throughout their formative years are discussed in a confidential group setting.
Youth meet most Sundays, during the school year. All Youth are encouraged to attend the 10:00 am. We conclude at 11:00 so youth leaders and youth may receive Holy Communion at the 10:00 service, if they haven’t received prior to class.
