In an effort to combat the large number of residents facing food insecurity, St. Michael's, over the years, has expanded it’s garden to 12 beds! The harvested produce is donated to the White River Christian Church Food Bank. We are also partnering with the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District in creating a county-wide network of gardens to increase collaboration, offer support, and provide educational training.
September 2020 Garden Update
St. Michael's gardens’ harvest time is coming to a close, but we had a great season, thanks to God and our gifted gardeners. Please stop to take a look, sit in the pavilion and listen to the noon, or 6pm, church bells chime out a song. We are still harvesting from the church gardens every Thursday morning, until the gardens are empty. This season we exceeded 670 lbs of donated produce!
